New Home Construction, Building Permit Plans, North Saanich BC

This custom timber frame home is located in North Saanich BC. I worked closely with John Hughes the contractor and the home owner. It was important to a create a design that both suited exactly what the client was after and also a structure that wasn't to elaborate for the contractor. We designed it this way to reduce construction costs and also the amount of time it would take to frame up. This also saves costs in the long run. I believe we found the happy medium. The house it self has a very warm open feeling. The timber used was reclaimed lodge pole pine bettle kill timbers. The contractor had the wood trucked out from Price Gorge. Both the the basement and the main floor have in floor heating which allows a consistent uniform heat throughout the house. I am very happy with the overal design, mostly because my client and the contractor were so please with the final results.
